Definition
Categories can be used to categorize elements in the system.
Categories can be defined with Name, short name and definition (as usual) and also with super categories, and Permissible classes.
Super Categories
Super categories is a mechanism to create a hierarchy of categories.
Permissible classes
A category’s permissible class list all possible things that can be categorized by it. For example, a category could be called “Visible spectrum” that could be only for Instruments. Instrument would be therefore the Permissible class for Visible spectrum class. It is not applicable for Missions or Programmes.
Create a category

Go to the Administration application through the topbar.

in the top left, select ‘Category’

Click on the blue ‘+’ in the bottom right of the screen

In the panel that opened, add a name, a short name, a definition

and click on Save
