Table of contents
In the following we will refer to an element as any thing in EORSADB. For example it can be a Mission, a Payload, a Program, etc.
Category
A Category is a mean to categorise the elements. A category may belong to a super category to increase the semantic. For example, a super category can be Spectrometrer and one of the category would be Cross-nadir shortwave (UV/VIS) sounder.
Data Type
This value is to define the type of data we are dealing with. There are 3 possible values:
- Core data: Considered as official ESA data
- Non Core data: usually data that is coming from other sources
- Fictional data: data that is user created, or draft data for simulation.
Data source
The Data source defines the source of the data
Data Product
The data product defines the element being at interest in a Mission, in an ECV or in an ECV requrirement.
Definition
The description of the element.
Environmental Climate Variable
An Environmental Climate Variable (ECV) is a Requirement group concerning Earth Observation
Environmental Climate Variable Requirement
An Environmental Climate Variable Requirement (or ECV Requirement) is a specific type of requirement, which is related a Data Product.
Instrument
An Instrument is a component of a mission.
Mission
A Mission is a spacecraft that embed one or more instrument.
Name
This is the name of the element.
Parameter Type
A parameter Type is the definition of the values in the application.
Parameter Value
A Parameter Value is a value added to an Element to specify its value. It is defined by the Parameter Type. These are the main element being checked when running Parametric Constraints.
Parametric Constraints
A parametric constraint is a boolean expression that belong to a requirement that is being evaluated to verify the parameter value on the Missions
Requirement
A requirement is something that needs to be verified. It can be Environmental observation requirement, or General requirement.
Requirement Specification
A requirement specification should belong to a mission, and is the highest level of requirement group. It is usually the Mission Requirement Document or a standard.
Requirement Group
A requirement Group is a grouping of requirement that may belong to a mission. It is usually a Chapter in the scope of requirement specification
Short Name
This is the short name of the element for quick reference. For requirements, it is usually the requirement number.
Space Program
A program is a Mission or a series of missions targetting the same goal.
